Chelsea have agreed a new contract with exciting academy prospect Kobe Barbour. The youngster has signed a four-year deal with the Blues, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until June 2030.
Barbour is the latest Under-21s star to commit his long-term future to the West London club, following Freddy Bernal and Chizaram Ezenwata earlier this month. Here is everything you need to know about Barbour following the latest news.

What are your thoughts on Estevao being left out again? Why do you think Xabi Alonso keeps doing it? 🤔
Kobe Barbour is a versatile attacking midfielder who can play as a No. 10 or out wide. The 19-year-old played in multiple positions during the 2025/26 season with the under-18s and the under-21s.
Barbour registered seven goals and three assists in last season’s U18 Premier League, including two goals and one assist in the last three games. He also made five substitute appearances for the U21s in Premier League 2 but added no goal contributions.
However, Barbour has not played any minutes for the U21s in the 2026/27 season. The Blues have not confirmed any injury, but that would appear to be the most likely explanation for him not making the matchday squad once.
Cobham Next Gen’s next fixtures are against Flora Tallinn U19 in the UEFA Youth League and Tottenham U21s in Premier League 2. Only time will tell whether Barbour, who joined Chelsea over a decade ago, will participate after signing his new deal.
