Compelling documentary about the third football club in Glasgow
Year: 2026
Certificate: 15
When you think of football in Glasgow you probably think of Celtic and Rangers, but there's a third option for fans of the beautiful game in the city - Partick Thistle.
'Thistle is about the people. If we wanted good football, we'd follow Real Madrid.' This is how one fan puts the experience of following the perennial underdogs, who have a mascot named Kingsley that looks like a scowling sun and is known for terrifying youngsters. There's a glory in supporting an eccentric side like that - one that does things its own way, even if they never seem destined for greatness in the traditional sense.
One Team In Glasgow is a celebration of the spirit at the heart of that fandom, and of the terrific atmosphere that can come with it on matchdays. There's a downside to supporting a team like this, of course: 'It's the hope that kills you,' is how one fan puts it, and this documentary came about when the team started out as favourites to win the Championship (Scotland's second tier) in 2024-25. If you enjoyed Welcome To Wrexham, give it a go. You won't be disappointed. (Four episodes)
