Former Wisconsin Badgers running back Braelon Allen had the best rushing performance of his NFL career on Sunday, recording 147 yards on the ground for the New York Jets against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Allen carried the ball 21 times for 147 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' 38-33 loss. He also added two receptions for six yards, continuing to show his value as a featured option in New York's offense.
The 147-yard performance surpassed Allen's previous career high of 116 rushing yards, which he recorded against the Cleveland Browns in Week 5. He found the end zone on a 21-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, giving the Jets a 30-21 lead at the time.
Allen has stepped into a larger role with starting running back Breece Hall sidelined by a quadriceps injury. Sunday's performance marked his fifth consecutive start and his third game with at least 100 rushing yards during that stretch.
The former Badger continues to make the most of his opportunity in New York. Although the Jets couldn't secure the victory, Allen's career-best outing was another encouraging sign for the young running back.
