The second Will Wade era at LSU is kicking off as the 2026-27 men’s college basketball season has arrived.

Wade and his freshly-formed Tigers squad will open the season against an in-state opponent, Tuesday, Nov. 3, LSU New Orleans inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Tuesday’s matchup will feel like a welcome back party for Wade after coaching the Tigers for the first time from 2017-2022. It’ll also be the first time fans get a chance to check out a whole new roster compete in a game that’s going to count.

All offseason, the question was who will be playing for Wade and the Tigers, with countless battles for eligibility played out in court — some still ongoing. At getting through the peaks and valleys of new-age roster constructing, LSU has it’s 2026-27 roster of 14 players. All of whom are hoping to outdo the Tigers’ 15-17 overall finish from last season.

Among the new faces are some familiar ones in the SEC, such as former Kentucky and Alabama transfer, Mo Dioubate. Some will be new to fans such as French center Brice Dessert and Croatian center Michael Ruzic.
