Our LSU beat team decides if the Tigers can go on the road and beat a new-look Auburn program that just toppled the nation’s No. 1 team. Kickoff in Jordan-Hare Stadium is set for 11 a.m. Saturday on ABC.
LSU 27, Auburn 19
LSU needs to snap the program’s eight-game SEC road losing streak to keep its CFP hopes alive going into November. Auburn’s win at No. 1 Georgia was one of the season’s biggest shockers, but will those Tigers face a letdown like so many SEC teams this season after emotional wins? Auburn is confident and Jordan-Hare is hostile, but it comes down to win the turnover battle, win the game.
LSU 28, Auburn 20
This is an Auburn squad that can move the ball thanks to quarterback Byrum Brown, who has averaged around 150 yards passing in his last three games but has eclipsed 100 yards rushing in two straight. Auburn ranks near the bottom of the FBS in red-zone success both offensively and defensively. If Sam Leavitt and the offense continue to progress, this is a very winnable game.
LSU 28, Auburn 14
It looks like Trey’Dez Green will be back this week, which means the LSU passing attack gets a big boost after improving a bunch since he’s been out of the lineup. As long as LSU can contain Byrum Brown, it’s hard not to like its chances. LSU is bound to win on the road at some point, and it’s a letdown spot for Auburn after last week’s massive win over Georgia.
LSU 28, Auburn 22
LSU should win as long as it doesn't turn the ball over as many times as it did against Kentucky — or as many times as Georgia did against Auburn last week. Weird things tend to happen in this series, but you'd think the visiting Tigers have enough disruptive pass rushers and offensive weapons to get a win over this plucky Auburn team. It just won't come easily.
