The Boston Celtics will host the Chicago Bulls on Friday night, marking the second time they've squared off this season at TD Garden. The Green Team dominated the first matchup, crushing the Bulls 135-99 on Monday evening thanks to a 28-point performance from Celtics point guard Payton Pritchard.
The rematch isn't just the Celtics' fifth game of the young regular season; it's also their first group play game for the NBA Cup. That means scoring differential matters, so don't expect a massive blowout again. The 3-1 C's, who are largely healthy, should like their chances at home against the 1-4 Bulls. However, beating the same team twice in such a short span is a challenge, and Chicago will be hungry for its first win against a team with postseason aspirations.
The Celtics are on a three-game winning streak after falling to the Detroit Pistons in the regular-season opener. Their 3-1 record puts them in the top five of the Eastern Conference.
Meanwhile, the Bulls are on a three-game losing streak and hold a 1-4 record. They reside near the bottom of the East standings.
For Boston, only Devin Carter (illness) is out.
For Chicago, Nic Claxton (hamstring) has been ruled out. Tobe Awaka (left ankle sprain), Jalen Smith (left finger sprain), and Patrick Williams (right adductor strain) are all questionable.
