Lara Trump sounded off on WNBA players ducking into the locker room for the national anthem.

Outrage over the WNBA’s national anthem snub is hitting a breaking point, with big names like Donald Trump calling out the league for harming itself just as its popularity blows up.

But WNBA officials couldn’t care less. Rather than backing down, the quiet rebellion seems deeply baked into the culture, right down to press row, where two WNBA PR staffers were caught sitting through the anthem and then scrambled to hide their seating tags when confronted.

Lara Trump says the WNBA are heading down the NFL’s path

Lara Trump didn’t pull any punches, calling the players’ anthem walkouts a “disgraceful” slap in the face to veterans and Gold Star families. Pointing straight to the NFL’s past nightmare with similar protests, she warned that a league only just starting to win over mainstream fans is playing with fire.

On Fox News, she said: “Talking out on the national anthem, I hope they are going back in the locker room. I hope that they are thinking about the level of disrespect that they are showing to every veteran out there, to every Gold Star family out there, to every person who has served our country

“To walk out on the national anthem, it is so disgraceful. And I’m afraid the WNBA is forgetting how harmful it was to the NFL when people started doing this sort of thing. Not that they have a lot of fans to lose. You’re just starting to build momentum. You may want to keep them.

“But if they continue in this fashion and the audience pushes back and revolts against them, they’re going to be hurting quite a bit more.”

We’ve already seen Riley Gaines call for an Olympic ban for players who snub the national anthem, and now Donald Trump has claimed that the WNBA is destroying their reputation.

However, it’s not just in the WNBA, as LeBron James could be seen practicing his golf swing during the national anthem for the 76ers’ opener with the New York Knicks, but at least he was on the court.
