Hibs head into tonight’s game against St Mirren having lost their last three games, but Sallinger believes the team are doing plenty right despite recent defeats and says they were unfortunate not to take a share of the spoils against Celtic at the weekend.
“It’s been difficult in the last few weeks because of the results, but I think there’s an improvement in every game,” said Sallinger in his pre-match press conference.
“When I look back at the last game, I thought we had a decent game, and we just didn’t get away with a point, unfortunately, but the feeling after the game was quite good.
“I think there has been an improvement in every game we’ve played so far, and I thought we played against a very good side in the league at the weekend, and when I look at the game, I thought we deserved to get something out of the game.
“I think things are going in the right direction, and we have good players to turn things around, and we keep moving forward.
“The position we are in at the moment is nowhere near our ambitions, and that’s clear, but I’m sure, and I’m convinced with the players and the staff here at this Football Club that we can turn things around quickly.
“We are working hard for everything, and we have to do a lot to create our chances to score goals, and we are getting punished for very little at the moment.
“We are happy with the way he (Marink Reedijk) wants to play and how he sees football, and it’s quite a bit different compared to the other managers before.
“I think especially on Sunday you can clearly see his way of football, and I think we’re going to go in a very good direction.
“If we keep improving that and are patient, we’ll win a lot of games this season.
“Everyone at this Football Club and in the dressing room is 100 per cent sure that if we keep improving and keep believing in the way the Manager wants to play, then we’ll win a lot of games.”
