Brooks Koepka opted against reporting a rules violation to officials during a PGA Tour event, confident that golf karma would ultimately even the score.

During an appearance on Dan Rapaport's Dan on Golf show, the five-time major champion discussed the difficulties of policing players who allegedly improve their lies in the rough. This came as he made his PGA Tour comeback this year, dealing a significant blow to LIV Golf in the process.

He admitted to turning a blind eye to one rules infringement at a PGA Tour tournament, instead putting his faith in outside forces to set things right.

"I've noticed a lot of guys do it, and guys get away with it more because you're not on top of them," Koepka explained.

The former LIV Golf star acknowledged watching competitors exploit the rules, particularly when they believe nobody is watching - even though Bryson DeChambeau served as a prime example of being caught on camera at the Open Championship.

"So I might be over there hitting my shot, but you're over here in the left rough and guys definitely do it, but it's just how are you going to prove it?" Koepka continued.

Having turned professional in 2012 and notching nine PGA Tour victories, the seasoned golf veteran has likely witnessed countless rule violations that were never flagged. However, one particular incident from last year stood out in his memory.

"There's one I saw this year that was really bad," Koepka said, trying not to smile. "I'm not going to name the player, he's not playing in this [Skins Game], but it was pretty bad."

Koepka recalled having an unobstructed view during a chip shot, stating: "It was a chip. I saw it. It was really bad. He went for the backswing and you could see the whole ball."

Despite being confident about the ruling, Koepka didn't approach a rules official. The golf analyst questioned why Koepka opted not to report it.

"I just ate that one because karma came and bit him on the next hole," Koepka disclosed. "I think he made a double or a triple on the next hole so I was like what am I going to say? But it was interesting."

Koepka acknowledged he wouldn't have been able to demonstrate that his opponent violated the rules.

"What am I going to do?" Koepka asked. "I can't prove it, and like at the same time, I understand guys have got to put the club down here, but if you keep putting the club down of course.."
