JD Vance visited his hometown to show his support for the Republican nominee for Governor of Ohio, Vivek Ramaswamy. Taking a detour from his busy schedule, he paid a visit to Cincinnati Bengals’ training facilities. However, he didn’t get the reception he expected.
Expecting a warm reception, Vance received the cold shoulder from most Bengals players. A video surfaced of Vice President attempting to greet Cincinnati players. While some acknowledged his presence in their training facility, shaking his hand and embracing him, most didn’t even bother to look at him.
They snubbed him completely, exiting the hallway for practice swiftly. Vance just smiled as he moved away with his team. The media asked Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow about Vice President's visit. He handled the question with utmost tact, changing the conversation and refusing to get into the politics territory.

When asked if he interacted with Vance, he said he and his teammates didn’t interact with him. According to him, they focused on their practice, and Vance left before they had an opportunity to interact with him. When asked what it meant for VP to visit them, he stated that many people from different walks of life pay them a visit to see the great product he and his teammates put out.
“We do not. We did not. He came with everybody and left with swiftness and efficiency before the end of practice, so I didn’t get to. Yeah, a lot of people around. That’s what I love about what I do is, it brings people together. People take time out of their day to come and watch what we do, watch what I do, and watch all the work I have put in to come and watch greatness, and that’s everybody in the locker room. That’s why we do what we do.”
Cincinnati player ignoring Vance has caused a stir in the Republican circles who are urging the NFL to fine the team. However, the fans had an opposite reaction to it.
Bengals players' snub of JD Vance amused fans
Fans loved the reaction from the Bengals’ players and had a lot of colorful things to say about Vance. They called Vice President a fool and applauded Joe Burrow and his teammates for ignoring him. Many pointed out that Vance, despite getting snubbed, couldn’t do anything but smile, finding it hilarious.
A few joked that players didn’t interact with him because they weren’t interested in getting makeup tips from him, taking a dig at Vance’s appearance. They called him lame and a yes man. Fans wrote,
“Bengals players earn an A+ for ignoring this fool!”

A fan joked, Weird, nobody wanted makeup tips from Princess Maybeline”
Someone said, Being in the same room as football players will not unlame you”
A user wrote, He’s nothing but a yes man. No charisma”

Vance getting snubbed isn’t surprising. According to a recent BGSU poll, Vice President’s approval rating has gone down in Ohio. Maybe he might get a better reception if he visits the Cleveland Browns.
