Newcastle United threw away a golden chance to nick a much-needed away win at Craven Cottage.
The first half reached the mid-way point at 0-0 with Harvey Barnes unlucky to see his low shot saved by the feet of Bernd Leno. The £38million forward tested Leno again, but he made a fine block before the break, and Dan Burn's strike from the resultant corner was chalked off due to an offside call on Yoane Wissa.
Barnes hooked one wide at the start of the second half after Wissa rolled it to him invitingly on 48 minutes. Sander Berge rolled one wide of the target in the 55th minute as the home side tried to get a foothold in the second half.
Jaissle made a couple of changes just after the hour mark as he sent on Joe Willock and Lewis Miley on to liven up the midfield amid a dire contest. Steur had been a bright spark for Newcastle but he went off for Matias Fernandez-Pardo with 16 minutes to go.
After Jacob Murphy's wonder strike, Newcastle's lead lasted just three minutes as Rodrigo Munoz poked jome to make it 1-1.
Here's how the Magpies performed in the capital:
Lukas Hornicek 9
Newcastle's saviour in the first half after excellent saves to deny King and Bobb. An incredible save to deny Ryan Sessegnon late on. The Magpies can thank him for the point.
Amar Dedic 7
Improved in the second half as he looked to provide and almost set up a goal for Osula.
Malick Thiaw 5
A so, so performance as he got through some routine stuff. But made a hash of what should have been a simple clearance as Fulham pounced for an equaliser.
Dan Burn 7
Denied a goal from an offside situation. Looked steady other than a scary moment in which Berge went down looking for a penalty.
Lewis Hall 7
Had his work cut out to deal with Oscar Bobb in the first half. Could have sealed the game with a late chance but was denied by Leno.
Nico Gonzalez 5
A neat passer, no doubt, but he lacked the spark Newcastle are looking for to open up opposing defences. Another to be withdrawn in the search for more creativity.
Sean Steur 8
Newcastle's shining light. Wanted the ball and looked for openings. Went off after falling awkwardly in a challenge with Sander Berge.
Jacob Murphy 8
Created chances and scored a stunner. Could not have done much more. Was fired up for this one.
Yoane Wissa 4
This was a struggle with a decent opportunity fired into the side netting and an all around lack of impact for a number 10 making life easy for Fulham. Wissa had just 17 touches and it was no surprise to see his number come up long before the end.
Harvey Barnes 5
Had his chances and almost laid on what could have been the winner for Hall. Looked a danger in periods of both halves but then gave away a sloppy pass that led to Fulham equaliser.
William Osula 4
Left the pitch without registering a shot. Missed a golden chance after Dedic had put one on a plate.
