PSG star handed ‘most unlucky yellow card ever given’ after Luis Enrique gaffe

Nicky Butt reveals exact moment Michael Carrick said he didn't want to be a manager as Man Utd legend, 51, doubles down

QUENTIN NDJANTOU sensationally had boss Luis Enrique to blame after being booked during Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League thumping of Villarreal.

The talented youngster, 19, came off the bench as last season’s winners notched a 6-0 victory in Spain.

But Ndjantou, who made his second senior appearance of the campaign during the 5-1 rout against Le Havre last weekend, saw his evening take a stunning twist as soon as he came off the bench.

The winger was SHOVED onto the pitch by chief Enrique before German referee Felix Zwayer gave permission.

Ndjantou had been ordered to wait on the touchline after Desire Doue had taken too long to leave the pitch as PSG prepared a triple change.

Strict new rules were brought in during the World Cup, with those being substituted having ten seconds to leave the action.

But, in a huge gaffe, Enrique was spotted pushing the PSG starlet into the action.

The teenage sensation was then booked and BBC commentator Guy Mowbray said: “Ndjantou got a yellow card, presumably, for coming on the field when he wasn’t supposed to.

“Ndjantou was thrown onto the field. Ndjantou, I think, has just got the most unlucky yellow card there has ever been given in a Champions League game.”

Enrique, 56, hit out at the new guidelines during his post-match press conference.

The former Barcelona supremo said: “What happened regarding the three substitutions was a farce.

“Imagine if the score were 0–0, then they take three players off you, and after that I push one of them on and he gets a yellow card.

“I would have pushed the other players on too! What is this? Are we playing a children’s game?

“We have to respect the professionals too, just as we respect the refereeing team.”

Ndjantou caused problems for a shell-shocked Villarreal

PSG shattered a Champions League record when they raced into a four-goal lead inside 17 minutes.

Joao Neves, Doue, Senny Mayulu and Fabian Ruiz left Villarreal shell-shocked.

The latter then added to his tally early in the second half before David Boly completed the humiliation.

PSG have Aston Villa among their remaining opponents in the league phase of the Champions League.
