Kabongo Tshimanga opened the scoring inside 20 minutes, meeting Romoney Crichlow’s threaded pass before firing into the bottom corner.
But Barnet were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute when Noel-Williams received a second yellow card for a foul on Jamie Robson.
Oldham snatched a point in the final minutes of stoppage time as Oliver Norburn’s inch-perfect cross found Mike Fondop, who headed home.
“I think the red card is a farce. The first yellow card is a yellow card. The second yellow card is a yellow card, isn’t it?” Brennan said.
“It changed the whole game. A blow to go down to 10 men. We didn’t build a big enough lead, which we spoke about at half-time. We had a glorious chance with Idris Kanu in 11 versus 11 to make it 2-0 and missed that chance.
“We should have taken a bigger lead in the first half. We hit the post, had several corners and just weren’t ruthless enough in the first period. We just need to give more service to Kabongo Tshimanga. His goal was absolutely fantastic, but we never gave him enough chances to score.
“Kabby is a key player. Since he came to the club in January, we’ve won a lot of football matches. He scores a lot of goals for us, so he’s a huge player. The more he stays fit, the better it will be for the team.”
Oldham manager Micky Mellon felt his side deserved more than a point after drawing 1-1 at Barnet, but believes the performance is something they can build on as they continue to search for their first away win.
“It was a game of two halves, conditions dictated how the two halves were played. We’ll be disappointed we didn’t get the goal when we had that big opportunity,” said Mellon.
“The players showed a lot of appetite, fire and passion in difficult conditions. We wanted to win the game and deserved the very minimum, but they showed a lot of qualities.
“Mike Fondop’s one-v-one was a big moment, but we scored the equaliser. It shows a lot of togetherness and fight. We could easily feel disappointed, but we kept going and plugging away.
“We kept knocking on the door and nothing was going for us, which can kill the spirit, but it didn’t kill us. We kept believing and, right at the last minute, showed better quality and equalised.
“We believed the next goal was going to be the winner, but it wasn’t meant to be. It’s something to build on and we showed our qualities in very difficult conditions to pick up a point. We battled right until the end.”
