Oleksandr Usyk has named the fighter he believes possesses the greatest punching power in boxing today.

The Ukrainian is a two-division undisputed world champion, having conquered both cruiserweight and heavyweight before vacating his heavyweight titles earlier this year in order to focus on the final chapter of his career, which he has dubbed his 'last dance.'

Despite his remarkable achievements across a 13-year span, the 39-year-old is not ready to hang up his gloves just yet.

Usyk's Future Plans Explored

Despite twice reigning as undisputed heavyweight champion, another run down at cruiserweight is seemingly top of the agenda for 'The Cat'

Usyk is said to be keen on a showdown with the undefeated David Benavidez, having missed out on a long-hyped clash with American heavyweight star Deontay Wilder.

Wilder, whose hands of mass destruction have earned him the nickname 'Bronze Bomber,' will be in action next month as he takes on Jai Opetaia in the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua.

Usyk has always been complimentary about Alabama native Wilder, who can count 43 knockouts among his 45 professional victories. However, when naming the hardest active puncher in the sport, Oleksandr went in a different direction.

During a video on his YouTube channel, Usyk was asked to construct his perfect boxer by selecting different attributes from fighters across the sport.

When it came to punching power, the two-time undisputed champion opted for Joshua, suggesting that his former rival possesses the most formidable power in boxing today.

Having shared a ring with the likes of Wilder, Fury, Maris Briedis, Derek Chisora, and many more, some fans may be surprised by the veteran's choice.

Joshua, however, has recorded 30 wins throughout his professional career, 27 of which have come by knockout, stopping the likes of Wladimir Klitschko, Dillian Whyte, Alexander Povetkin and Kubrat Pulev during his career.

The Ukrainian could not resist poking fun at his old foe Fury, laughing when the question of boxing 'intelligence' came up, before finally answering "greedy belly."

On December 11th, Joshua will have his chance to let his hands do the talking, as he prepares to walk out in what is possibly the biggest moment of not just his career, but in the history of British boxing, with the Watford-born fighter taking part in a bout against former two-time world heavyweight champion, Fury.

The fight will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, with both men hoping to settle a rivalry that has lingered for more than a decade.

Usyk, who has twice defeated both Joshua and Fury, knows better than most what both men bring to the ring. His endorsement of Joshua's power will only add yet another talking point ahead of a fight that could define both British boxers' bedazzled careers.
