After leading most of the game, Philadelphia were down late in the fourth quarter to the New York Knicks in an NBA Cup game on Oct. 30.

But thanks to James and leading scorer Tyrese Maxey, the 76ers were able to prevailing with its second win over New York this season to improve to 5-1. Along with 27 points from Maxey and James' 20, Philly also got a boost off the bench from Anfernee Simons who had 21 points on 5-8 shooting from three.

However, since it was the first of a back-to-back series, the Sixers will be without James and center Joel Embiid for a matchup with a Charlotte Hornets team that likely will be without its starting backcourt. Forward Jaylen Brown is also questionable with a knee injury.

Since both played in the frontend of back-to-back games, James and Embiid will rest for the game against the Hornets.
