Week 7 NFL picks against the spread, predictions for every game: Chiefs look to stay undefeated vs. Seattle

If the Kansas City Chiefs win on Sunday night, it will be a sign to the NFL that they plan to reclaim their spot in the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs had a rough 2025 season but that was clearly an aberration. They're 5-0 going into a primetime game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Kenneth Walker III is a key figure in both teams' stories this season.

Walker changed teams this offseason when the Seahawks let him go in free agency and he signed with the Chiefs. Walker has reshaped the Chiefs' offense, with a league-high 665 rushing yards. While Walker has been tremendous in Kansas City, the Seahawks have struggled to find any consistency at running back without him. It's hurting their offense, because Sam Darnold is turning the ball over at a high rate with no running game to take pressure off of him. The Seahawks are a disappointing 3-3 after winning the Super Bowl last season.

Seattle is still a quality opponent with a good home-field advantage. The defense is near the level it reached last season, when it was dominant. The offense is having its issues but it's still capable. It wouldn't surprise anyone if Seattle rallied this season after a middling start and made it back to the Super Bowl.

That's what makes Sunday night an interesting game for the Chiefs. They do have solid wins and nothing about their start seems fraudulent. It's a good team. But a win at Seattle would stamp the Chiefs as a potentially great team this season.

Here are the rest of the picks against the spread for Week 7 of the NFL season:

Patriots (+3) over Bears

This is a fun primetime matchup. It might not have been a few weeks ago, when Drake Maye was slumping and Caleb Williams was hurt, but Maye has heated up, Williams is healthy and both teams look pretty good at 4-2. There are injury concerns on both sides, but one that stands out is Bears running back Kyle Monangai. The Bears' rushing attack isn't quite the same without him sharing time with D'Andre Swift. These teams are evenly matched, so taking a field goal seems wise.

Saints (+3.5) over Steelers

The NFL goes to Paris, where the civil unrest in France has been a big part of the story surrounding the game. The Steelers have been the better team this season, as reflected by their 4-2 record. The 2-4 Saints did play well for three quarters against the Giants last week before letting down in the fourth quarter and letting the Giants back in the game. Despite the Steelers' record, it's hard to feel too confident in them.

Giants (+10.5) over Texans

You won't see a team above .500 as a double-digit underdog against a 2-4 team very often. Everyone understands it for this game: The Texans are better than their record and showed it in last week's win over the Jaguars, and the Giants are just getting by in their wins (and ties, in the case of the Commanders' late game fiasco). The Giants are also onto their third quarterback of the season, replacing Jameis Winston with J.J. McCarthy after McCarthy's blazing hot fourth quarter last week. But perhaps McCarthy's late game rally from last week carries over? Also, Houston is coming right off a game in London, and that isn't always ideal. Houston is laying a lot of points.

Falcons (+3) over 49ers

This line looks a little strange, doesn't it? The 49ers are the best team in the NFL so far. The Falcons are 2-4 and coming off a game in which they trailed 31-7 in the fourth quarter to the Bears at home. The 49ers' injuries, particularly one to Mike Evans, has to factor in. Evans left Monday night's game with an Achilles injury and the 49ers offense struggled without him. They are decimated at receiver. Evans could play but it's hard to assume he'll be fully healthy. Laying only three points with the 49ers feels like a trap.

Panthers (-3) over Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield seems likely to be back this week. And the Buccaneers are desperate for a big win to get back in the NFC South race. It might not matter. The Bucs are still a poorly coached team while the Panthers aren't getting the respect they've earned yet.

Browns (-1.5) over Titans

The Titans got their first win, and perhaps that's a sign that they're improving. Let's wait to see it again though. One half doesn't completely erase that Tennessee was the second-worst team in the NFL for their first five-and-a-half games.

Bengals (-1.5) over Ravens

It's an impossible game to pick at this point in the week because we don't know if Lamar Jackson, who was limited in practice on Wednesday with an ankle injury, will play. Everything changes if he's back. For now we'll guess and say he will sit out, and that won't be good news against a Bengals team coming off a bye.

Jets (-4.5) over Dolphins

The Dolphins aren't going to have many games in which they have a realistic chance to win. This is one of them. The 2-4 Jets aren't very good. But let's also be honest: They're far better than this Dolphins team.

Vikings (-6.5) over Colts

The Colts lost to the Titans, fired general manager Chris Ballard afterward and coach Shane Steichen could be next. We know that in this NFL season, nothing seems predictable. But it's too hard to pick a Colts team in chaos against an undefeated Vikings team.

Cardinals (+4.5) over Broncos

Until the Broncos' offense improves, it's too hard to pick them laying points on the road. It's not like the Cardinals are incapable; they just beat the Rams on the road. And Denver, which had 38 yards after halftime last week against Seattle, has been poor on offense all season.

Packers (+3) over Lions

The Packers have looked good two weeks in a row, though those games came against bad defenses. Well, here's another bad defense for them. We all know the script for Lions games by now: Detroit's defense will give up a ton of points and the offense's job is to win a shootout. That could happen against a Packers defense that is hard to figure out, after a bad start to the season and then two good games. Either way, taking the points against a bad defense is often the right call.

Raiders (+4.5) over Rams

At some point the Rams could break out. But for now, the Rams are a mediocre team that is now taking on injuries including a key one to Davante Adams. And the Raiders' three-game losing streak might fool you. They led the Chiefs in the fourth quarter, were blown out by the Patriots in a tough spot and then were tied with the Bills in the fourth quarter. Las Vegas might not be a playoff team this season but it's far better than years past.

Eagles (+4.5) over Cowboys

Well, this isn't the NFC East Monday night showdown the NFL was hoping for when the schedule was released. The Eagles are bad and now without Jalen Hurts, and the Cowboys are bad too. If anything is going to bring out an inspired performance from the Eagles, it's a primetime matchup against their rival. And it's not like Dallas' defense can stop anyone.
