RUBEN AMORIM has sensationally claimed AC Milan cannot fight for glory on two fronts – just 18 months after he dropped the same bombshell at Manchester United.
The Portuguese tactician, 41, took over as the Italian heavyweights’ boss in June.
But, having been humiliated by Bournemouth last month, Milan suffered another Europa League setback when they lost 2-0 to ten-man Ferencvaros on Thursday.
A second half brace from Lenny Joseph silenced the San Siro and Bamidele Yusuf’s red card still did not spark a comeback.
Amorim then hit out at his players for failing to build on their Milan derby win over Inter.
And, less than five months after his appointment, the ex-Sporting supremo reckons the Rossoneri are not capable of winning Serie A and the Europa League.
Amorim told Sky Sport Italia: “It is difficult to explain. Quite simply, we were not ready to go from the derby to this competition.
“When you play with the Milan jersey, you have a responsibility and you cannot turn up like this.
“We are not ready to be competitive on two fronts. We’ve got to work on our approach and the way we view football. There are no excuses, there is nothing that I can say.
“I usually have a lot to say to defend my team, but tonight I really don’t. We must be humble and try to understand what happened.

“I have to think about Serie A, obviously, but we do need to do well in the Europa League too.
“We can and must win games despite squad rotation. We have to be ready, and right now we are not, to play and win every three days.
“I will not give up on this competition, though, so as long as it is mathematically possible, we will fight in this competition just like the others.”
Amorim made similar complaints when he was looking to steer United to Champions League qualification.
The Red Devils would have returned to Europe’s top competition if they beat Tottenham in the Europa League final last year.
But, ahead of the 1-0 defeat to Spurs, Amorim insisted his players were not up for the challenge.
He told Sky Sports: “We are not ready to play in the Premier League, be competitive, and to be in the Champions League.
“We know that, but we need to win, and we need to fight to win this competition [Europa League], to give something to our fans, and to go to the Champions League.
“Then we will have time to prepare the team to cope with those two competitions. So, it is a dilemma, but we want to win, of course.”
Amorim was ruthlessly trolled by Bournemouth fans when he returned to England for the first time since his Old Trafford sacking last month.
