Ravens place Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley on IR, sign Austin Reed

The Baltimore Ravens have officially placed quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley on injured reserve and signed Austin Reed to the 53-man roster as the team prepares to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football.

Baltimore announced the moves Thursday afternoon, confirming that both quarterbacks will miss at least four games after suffering injuries in Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Ravens also elevated outside linebacker Adisa Isaac and kicker Jake Moody from the practice squad for Thursday night's matchup at M&T Bank Stadium.

The transactions complete a significant quarterback overhaul, with undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano preparing to make his first NFL start as Baltimore tries to end a three-game losing streak.

Ravens officially place Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley on IR

Jackson suffered a right thumb injury on Baltimore's first offensive snap against Buffalo, ending his return after missing the previous three games with an ankle injury. Head coach Jesse Minter confirmed that the two-time NFL MVP would need surgery, adding uncertainty about his availability for the rest of the season.

Huntley suffered a toe injury during the second quarter against Buffalo, forcing the Ravens to turn to Fagnano. Reports indicate Huntley could miss the rest of the season with turf toe. With both quarterbacks officially placed on injured reserve, Baltimore will be without Jackson and Huntley for at least its next four games, beginning Thursday against Jacksonville.

The Ravens subsequently face the Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans before their Week 13 bye. Under the NFL's injured reserve rules, Jackson and Huntley cannot return until they have missed at least four games, although their actual recovery timelines could extend beyond that minimum.

Austin Reed joins Ravens' 53-man roster

Reed's promotion gives Baltimore another quarterback on its active roster alongside Fagnano and Kedon Slovis, whom the Ravens signed from Green Bay's practice squad earlier this week. Reed spent time with the Ravens during training camp before being released during final roster cuts. Baltimore brought him back to the practice squad Monday after injuries depleted the quarterback room.

Fagnano remains the expected starter against Jacksonville after completing 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and an interception against Buffalo. Reed and Slovis provide additional depth as the Ravens attempt to navigate a difficult stretch without their top two quarterbacks. Baltimore has also been working to finalize a trade for veteran Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals, potentially adding another experienced option beyond Thursday's game.

Jake Moody, Adisa Isaac elevated for Jaguars matchup

Moody will handle Baltimore's kicking duties after rookie Tyler Loop was placed on injured reserve with a right groin injury earlier this week.

The former San Francisco 49ers kicker joined Baltimore's practice squad in October and now has a chance to contribute during a critical stretch of the season. His elevation provides the Ravens with an experienced replacement while Loop recovers. Isaac's elevation gives Baltimore additional depth at outside linebacker. The former Penn State standout has been elevated from the practice squad before, and his availability gives the defense another option to generate more consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Unlike Reed's promotion to the 53-man roster, Moody and Isaac's elevations are temporary transactions for Thursday's game.

Baltimore enters the matchup against Jacksonville at 4-4 after three straight losses. With its quarterback situation dramatically changed and several significant injuries affecting the roster, Thursday's game represents an important opportunity for the Ravens to regain momentum before their Week 10 meeting with the Chargers.
