NBA Fantasy: Week 2 fantasy rookie power rankings
Caleb Wilson is averaging 21 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals across the first four games of his career for the Chicago Bulls.

With the first week of the NBA season in the books, we now have seen most of the top rookies start their NBA careers. The list of top 10 rookies for fantasy has already changed significantly from our preseason rankings. Many of the top picks from the Draft are struggling with their shot at the moment, but history tells us gradual improvement should happen throughout the season. The NBA Fantasy team will continue to update these rankings of the top 10 players every Tuesday.

Burries had an admirable debut (12 points and 5 rebounds on 50% shooting), and posted another solid outing on Saturday (10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists). He’s fighting to be a backup guard with Kasparas Jakučionis and AJ Green, and Milwaukee can play around with lineups early in the season. That guard room is competitive, which is why he only recorded 3 and 4 points in the Bucks’ other two games. However, Burries has managed to maintain some sort of production in limited minutes, which should lead to growth.

This second-round pick out of Arkansas has been a real find so far for the Denver Nuggets. Coming off the bench, Brazile is averaging 9 points and 7.3 rebounds in just 21.1 minutes. The 35th overall selection should receive more minutes if he continues to produce the way he has in his three games to start his rookie campaign.

8. Aday Mara – Oklahoma City Thunder

Mara’s impressive preseason set him up in Oklahoma City’s rotation, and he should receive more opportunities with Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace out, even if they play different positions. The 7-foot-3 Spaniard recorded the first double-double of his career in Monday’s win over the Phoenix Suns with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks. It’s worth noting that Mara shared some time with Jaylin Williams, the presumed backup center, but they spaced the floor nicely as Williams knocked down two 3-pointers. This could open the door for more Mara minutes on what still should be considered a title contender, despite all the injuries.

Another rookie guard struggling with his efficiency in a short sample size. Wagler is shooting just 34.8% from the floor in his three games, all off the bench. While it’s too soon to panic, he shot a similar 30.3% from the floor in his three preseason games. More reps should help him improve statistically. As the season progresses, it is reasonable to expect the LA Clippers to give their top-five pick some starts and with that some increased usage.

6. AJ Dybantsa – Washington Wizards

It would be unfair to drop the first overall pick any lower, as Dybantsa (ankle sprain) has yet to make his debut. Even with the hype surrounding the rest of this rookie class, fans eagerly await how he’ll fare next to Trae Young and Anthony Davis. The Wizards are a solid 2-2, and when Dybantsa returns, they’ll have even more firepower to compete. He won’t have to bear the same responsibilities as other No. 1 picks. Rather, he’ll be a supplementary scoring option and reliable defender while navigating the early stages of his NBA career. The 6-foot-9 wing has the skills and athleticism to contribute on both ends of the floor.

Peterson has been struggling with his efficiency so far at 36% from the floor. Yes, it is a very short sample size, but there are a lot of mouths to feed in Utah with their five leading scorers all averaging at least eight shots but all fewer than 14. It might be difficult for the rookie to get into a rhythm in the short term without his usage increasing.

Acuff leads all rookies in scoring, averaging 22.3 points and 4.7 assists, but the efficiency could be better (33/15/79 shooting splits). The opportunities have been apparent (24.3 shot attempts), but will that change as Sacramento navigates the Acuff-LaVine-Sabonis trio? The point guard has recorded the third-most shot attempts of any player in their first three NBA games (73), behind Wilt Chamberlain (99) and John Drew (82). Acuff is clearly the player the Kings want to build around, so we’ll see if this field-goal frenzy holds up as the season progresses.

The points and rebounds have been as advertised for Boozer with averages of 14.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists. The only shock here is he’s shooting just 28.3% from the floor in his four regular season games. In theory, that shouldn’t be sustainable, and we can expect some positive regression.

2. Yaxel Lendeborg – Golden State Warriors

With Jimmy Butler III out, Lendeborg has taken full advantage of his early opportunities in Golden State’s starting lineup. There has been growth with every game, and in Monday’s win over the Denver Nuggets, the 11th overall pick dropped a career-high 31 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists. So far, Lendeborg is averaging 21.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists on an efficient 45% shooting from the field and 34.6% from 3-point range. His versatility and vast experience at the college level is already translating, and it’s clear the Warriors trust him as the next option to Stephen Curry.

1. Caleb Wilson – Chicago Bulls

A fierce debate emerged in NBA Fantasy HQ over Caleb Wilson vs. Yaxel Lendeborg for who belongs No. 1 this week, but it’s Wilson who emerges as the Week 2 No. 1 rookie. Wilson has four games under his belt and is averaging 21 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 stocks. He’s averaging a healthy 18.5 shots, 5.5 more than the next Chicago Bulls player (Norman Powell at 13). This rookie is emerging as the No. 1 option on his team at the moment and should continue to improve with reps.
