WWE SmackDown viewers experienced an apparent audio glitch during the October 23 broadcast on Netflix, prompting confusion and speculation across social media.
The interruption occurred just before the WWE Women’s Championship match between Chelsea Green and Roxanne Perez, leaving fans wondering whether the problem was technical or something more.
Neither WWE nor Netflix has confirmed the cause behind the incident. However, the timing quickly caught viewers’ attention as Perez made her entrance ahead of the championship contest.
The apparent disruption occurred shortly before the commercial break leading into the title match. When the broadcast resumed, Green made her entrance, and the championship bout proceeded as scheduled.
The timing sparked immediate questions on X, with several viewers reporting problems with audio. One fan, @MrHeel2025, asked, “#smackdown did the audio just glitch on @netflix? Wow”
Another viewer, @eviltwincha, questioned whether the issue was widespread, writing, “Smackdown audio went out. Is it for everyone ??? Or just Netflix #Smackdown”
Meanwhile, @straightwrestle expressed frustration about the interruption happening during Perez’s entrance, posting, “Of course the Audio cuts right when Roxanne is coming out… come on mengggggg ?”
A fourth reaction came from @Jamietalks2000, who joked about WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H’s possible response to another broadcast issue: “Triple H backstage when the audio messes up again lol”
The incident also fuelled speculation that the disruption might have been intentional, although no evidence has established a connection to a storyline or an upcoming WWE appearance. With no official explanation available, the cause remains unclear.
Once the match got underway, Green retained the WWE Women’s Championship against Perez. Raquel Rodriguez attempted to interfere, but IYO SKY intervened, creating further chaos around the contest before Green secured the pinfall with the Killswitch.
For now, the audio interruption remains unexplained. While fans are accustomed to reading between the lines of WWE’s storytelling, this time the only confirmed outcome was Green’s successful title defense — not the reason behind the broadcast disruption.
