LAS VEGAS – To say Cody Durden has been an active fighter for the past year would be an understatement.
On Saturday, Durden squashed beef with Ode Osborne by picking up a unanimous decision win in their main card flyweight bout at UFC Fight Night 292 from the Meta APEX. The victory capped off a 12-month period in which Durden took on five fights, beginning with the late Allan Nascimento on November 1, 2025, as he went 2-3 during that run.
After defeating Osborne, Durden, 35, spoke of taking some time off, although it was hard to tell just how serious he was being.
"November 1st, I fought Nascimento. God bless him, and God bless his soul. He's no longer with us," Durden told reporters, including MMA Junkie. "I had five fights in one year, and so, man, I need to spend time with my kids. I've been an absent father. I feel like a cave man leaving the cave to go put food on the table. I've got to get back to my kids and my family and hug them. Man, I just miss them dearly. I've been working my butt off all year, and now I need to give this month to them."
But then he added with a smile, "Who knows? Maybe we'll have a fight in December."
As for any names in particular that could be next for Durden, he's not too concerned.
"Anybody can get it, anybody, from the front of the division to the back of the division," Durden said. "I'm here for a short time, not a long time."
