A potential spoiler for the next WWE Crown Jewel 2026 match announcement has emerged from Riyadh, as the city prepares to host the premium live event.
WWE is now just less than one week away from heading to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for this year’s annual Crown Jewel PLE on November 7.
The event that has been shrouded in controversy due to the safety risks involved in being in Saudi Arabia right now, however, the company has not shifted from its plans to host Crown Jewel in the country, with TKO CEO Ari Emanuel recently confirming that the event is going ahead.
And it appears as if preparations for WWE Crown Jewel are now underway in Riyadh, with footage circulating online of the Riyadh Season Stadium getting set up for WWE’s visit a week on Saturday.
Super Wrestling on Twitter has today (October 28) now shared some more images of the exterior of the Riyadh Season Stadium, and one of those pictures seemingly confirms that Finn Balor vs. GUNTHER will be taking place on the show.
As can be seen below, Balor and GUNTHER are featured on the rear-side of the entrance gate which fans would walk through to enter and exit the stadium’s perimeter.

Another image was shared showing already confirmed Crown Jewel opponents Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes on either sides of a similar gate, further suggesting that Balor vs. GUNTHER could be set to also be added to the card.
This follows Balor seemingly being pulled from a scheduled appearance at Zuffa Boxing 12 in London on November 7 – which is of course the same night as Crown Jewel.
The Irish star was due to appear alongside Bayley at that event, but it was later announced that former Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will be appearing alongside “The Role Model” instead.
GUNTHER and Finn Balor have been at odds on WWE SmackDown since SummerSlam 2026, when both failed to become number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Title.
Most recently, Balor made the save for Danhausen during a match between he and GUNTHER on the October 9 episode of SmackDown, however, that hasn’t stopped “The Ring General” pursuing the “Very Nice, Very Evil” star.
GUNTHER has promised that this Friday’s Halloween themed episode of SmackDown will be a special night for Danhausen, which certainly doesn’t bode well for him.
If WWE are to start building towards Balor vs. GUNTHER at Crown Jewel, expect whatever plans the Austrian has for Danhausen to be thwarted, leading to an announcement of a match between the two rivals in Riyadh.
Given how involved Danhausen has been in the build to the match lately, it would be a surprise if WWE didn’t have him interfere, lay down a curse on GUNTHER or even have him take up the role of special guest referee.
