Tottenham Hotspur Women delivered an absolute masterclass at the Robins High Performance Centre to secure a massive cup victory on Wednesday evening. Manager Martin Ho watched proudly as his side completely overwhelmed Bristol City in a ruthless 6-1 demolition. Unsurprisingly, Shekiera Martinez was the undisputed star of the show. The talented forward arrived from West Ham United over the summer, and she truly announced her arrival on the big stage by scoring a spectacular hat-trick.
Right from the opening whistle, the visitors wasted absolutely no time putting their stamp on the tie. In fact, Martinez opened the scoring just fourteen minutes into the match with a beautiful chip over goalkeeper Lauren Brzykcy after latching onto a brilliant pass from Amanda Nilden. The momentum only grew from there, with Olivia Holdt doubling the advantage just five minutes later following a very unselfish square ball from Eveliina Summanen. Before the hosts could even catch their breath, Martinez struck again in the 24th minute to make it 3-0.
To cap off an incredible opening period, Signe Gaupset joined the party with an outrageous lob from a distance. While Bristol City did manage to claw one back just before halftime when Rio Hardy scored from close range, the visitors remained firmly in control. Interestingly, that was actually the very first goal Tottenham have conceded in regular time during this season of the cup competition.

Despite that minor defensive lapse, the away side immediately restored their massive cushion shortly after the restart. Matilda Nilden grabbed her very first goal for the club by finishing low into the corner from a smart Holdt through ball. Then, to put the final nail in the coffin, Martinez completed her treble with a powerful header following a fantastic cross from Lenna Gunning Williams with twelve minutes remaining.

Beyond the incredible attacking display, the 496 travelling fans in attendance were treated to a truly special moment in the second half. Jess Naz finally returned to the pitch as a substitute in the 63rd minute, ending a grueling eleven-month spell on the sidelines after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament last December.
