Five Players Called Up for November International Break
ITFC IMAGE - 24/08/26

Another international break is just around the corner, and some players at Ipswich Town will soon be leaving the club because of international duty.

So far, five players have received call-ups from their national teams, and there will probably be more names on the list before the end of the week. The players will be travelling to various continents such as Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia.

Lukic Earns Serbia Recall Despite Injury Concern

One of the players who managed to earn a place on the team is midfielder Sasa Lukic.

Although he missed the last three Premier League matches due to groin strain, O’Neil believes he will be well enough to play against Bournemouth.

The Serbian team has a challenging period ahead of them since they had a hard time in the Nations League A tournament. They have to play against Germany and then travel to Greece for their final group match. So far, Veljko Paunovic’s team has not been successful at all, as they are at the bottom of Group 2 without any points.

They may get relegated to Nations League B and most probably need to win both matches.

Palacios Joins Argentina Squad

The normal midfield partner of his, Exequiel Palacios, has been included too.

The Argentine is going to travel to his homeland to link up with the team of Lionel Scaloni to take part in two prestigious friendly matches against Uruguay and Costa Rica. They need to put their focus on recovery after the retirement of Lionel Messi.

But it seems like there are some new rumours about the midfielder as well. Some reports are doing the rounds in Argentina regarding him making a move back to his childhood club, River Plate.

But it seems like he won’t be able to make any move in the near future. The reason being, he has already played with Bayer Leverkusen and Ipswich in this season and hence cannot play for a third club in the same season.

Maeda Included for Japan

The attacker, who can turn out to be very flexible on the pitch, will definitely be in the squad in order to face Brazil and Paraguay in Singapore.

The supporters of Ipswich will certainly feel happy to know that due to the late change in the schedule of the Asian Cup, Maeda will be free to take part in club matches. He was supposed to miss a couple of games in the Premier League and one game in the FA Cup.

Moriyasu is likely to hang up his boots after having served almost eight years as the manager of the Japanese team.

Diop Continues AFCON Qualification Campaign

At the back, Issa Diop has been called up by Morocco again as they continue their Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign.

They are currently top of their group after beating Gabon and Lesotho and now face Nigeria. The Moroccans will be confident going into their games as they look to build on their good start.

Egeli Set for Norway U21 Duty

Young winger Sindre Walle Egeli is also in action, having helped Norway Under-21s qualify for next summer’s European Championships.

They topped their group and will take advantage of the window to prepare for the tournament with friendlies against Poland Under-21s and Portugal Under-21s.

The young talent has been impressing since joining Ipswich and will use the opportunity to further his development against quality opposition.

More Call-Ups Expected

Several Ipswich players are set to be called up in the coming days. These include Paraguay forward Julio Enciso, Republic of Ireland defender Dara O’Shea and Ghana international Abdul Fatawu.

If this is confirmed, then O’Neil will be losing a large portion of his squad to international duty across the globe. While it is a credit to the quality of the squad that they have been called up, O’Neil will be hoping they all return to Suffolk in good condition and ready for the challenges ahead in the Premier League.
