Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot are facing an uncertain future at Manchester United, as they don’t have long-term contracts, and the Red Devils could undergo big changes in the next couple of windows.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Argentine has been subpar at the start of the season after a great World Cup. He’s under contract until June 2027, but with a club option. If he doesn’t bounce back, the team will listen to offers for him in January.
Atlético Madrid, Inter, Roma, and Como will be in the mix if that occurs. He moved to Old Trafford from Ajax in 2022, accumulating 121 appearances since, missing about a year due to an ACL tear and often dealing with other less severe injuries.
In addition to Martinez, Dalot could also become a target for the Serie A sides, as the talks with Manchester United to extend his contract aren’t going too well. However, he’s tied to them longer than his teammate, until 2029, thanks to a clause.
The Portuguese already spent a campaign in Italy when he was younger, playing for Milan in 2020/2021, making 31 appearances. Per Calciomercato, Roma almost signed him the following year but couldn’t strike a deal. The Rossoneri, Juventus, and Inter are monitoring the situation.
If a coaching change is coming, at least a partial overhaul will be likely, and even some stables could end up on the market. Several Italian teams could actually use both, but signing high-profile players from the Premier League is a very expensive endeavor. Their contract situations aren’t dire enough to significantly lower their price tags.
