Leicester City’s FA Cup journey begins with a trip to non-league side Oxford City.

The Foxes are considerable favourites, as to be expected, but Russell Martin is still likely to go with a strong starting XI.

This is the first time Leicester have entered the FA Cup at the first round stage since 2008 and reaching the third round, where they have been accustomed to starting from, should be the bare minimum. With that, here is how you can watch the Foxes in action.

TalkingPoints

A few changes but we still expect Leicester City to field a strong XI against Oxford City. What changes would you make?

When is Oxford City vs Leicester City?

Martin’s side travel to Oxfordshire to face Oxford City on Friday 6 November at the MGroup Stadium.

The Foxes have never played here before and kick-off is at 7:45pm GMT.

Is Oxford City vs Leicester City on TV?

Yes, Leicester’s trip to Oxford City is on TV and will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports 1HD. Coverage will begin at 7pm GMT ahead of kick-off 45 minutes later.

Subscribers in the UK can stream the fixture live via the Discovery+ app or HBO Max. Viewers outside of the UK and Ireland will be able to watch the action unfold on the LCFC TV.

Leicester City team news

Jayden Joseph won’t return until after the international break as he continues his recovery from injury while Christian McFarlane doesn’t seem to be back any time soon.

There is likely to be plenty of change within the side anyway, which could feature bit-part players such as Admir Bristric and youngsters like Tommy Neale.

Will there be a replay if Oxford City and Leicester City draw?

Replays have been scrapped from the first round onwards since the 2024/25 season meaning that the fixture will be decided on the night.

If Oxford City and Leicester draw, the two teams will go to extra-time before settling the game on penalties if needed.

When is the FA Cup second round draw?

The draw for the second round of the FA Cup will take place on Monday 9 November, which is the day the final FA Cup first round fixture will be played, between Plymouth Parkway and Berkhamstead.

Should the Foxes win, as expected, their second round game will take place on the weekend of Saturday 5 December 2026.
