Jamie Carragher didn't hold back when reacting to Bruno Fernandes' controversial interview after the Champions League loss to Como.
Manchester United's dismal season went from bad to worse on Wednesday night as they suffered a humiliating 4-1 loss to Serie A side Como in the Champions League.
Following the loss, club captain Fernandes shocked fans as he slammed United manager Michael Carrick in a post-match interview that Carragher has labelled a 'disgrace' in a savage breakdown of United's current situation.
Speaking not long after the full-time whistle in Como, Fernandes was asked whether he had 'confidence' that United could solve the problems needed after a poor performance.
To the dismay of Carrick, the United captain answered by calling out his manager and the club's staff, saying they got the pressing tactics 'wrong' in Como.
It comes just one week after United defender Lisandro Martinez slammed the club hierarchy, later leading to him receiving a fine after releasing an apology on social media.
And it's safe to say that Carragher wasn't impressed with Fernandes' behaviour, as he reacted to the comments while covering the match for CBS Sports alongside co-hosts Kate Scott, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards.
"We said Lisandro Martinez was bang out of order last week for calling out the hierarchy above him and for Bruno Fernandes to do that it's a disgrace really," Carragher claimed.
"When you think about last season, he got player of the year, that was on the back of Michael Carrick becoming manager, he wouldn't have got that award without Michael Carrick, because Michael Carrick put him back in his rightful position and he then went on to have a fantastic season because he's a talented footballer.
"But when you think of him as a footballer, he's a talent, but in terms of attitude and the way he goes about things, it's not right at all.
"And he's reacted like that because he's been brought off and he's been embarrassed tonight by the manager as he brought him off. And when he talks about pressing, whether it's man to man or zonal, for years, Bruno Fernandes has meant Manchester United can't press because he does things for the crowd.
"I commentate on games watching Man United and he runs all over the place like a kid in the schoolyard for the supporters. They all think he's working hard -- he's not. He's killing the rest of the team doing it."
Carragher went on to compare Fernandes to United legend Bryan Robson, saying that Robson's status as one of the club's greats is because he kept fighting for the club and didn't throw others under the bus despite playing in a far less successful era than the current one.
And it is in this comparison Carragher showed the crux of United's current problems because, unlike Robson, key players like Fernandes or Martinez appear to, rightly or wrongly, be ready to completely blame the club hierarchy rather than looking at their own performances.
"Watching him (Fernandes) play every week and throwing his arms up at players constantly in the game is an absolute disgrace," Carragher added.
"What he's done there, calling the manager out considering how he has performed this season on the pitch. Awful attitude, and not what a Manchester United captain should be."
Carragher went on to admit that, while he agrees Carrick must now be sacked, he was glad that he had come out and defended himself in a post-match press conference in which he criticised Fernandes and United's players for not running enough in matches.
