The Thursday practice report out of Dallas contained optimism for Caleb Downs and P.J. Locke. Even though they remain in concussion protocol and the Cowboys admit they've looked at possible contingency plans for Sunday's game in Indianapolis, both starters were upgraded to limited and could be cleared to play Sunday. Unfortunately, that good news was tempered with some new situations to watch. DeMarvion Overshown is suddenly dealing with a hamstring/back issue, and Joey Porter Jr. got a slight downgrade as he continues to nurse an ankle.
Frustration has been the watchword around The Star this week. In this roundup of today's headlines, the Cowboys offense's struggles are now being openly addressed by the likes of Dak Prescott and Jerry Jones. We wonder if it's time to be concerned about Brandon Aubrey's accuracy, and take a quick guess at how long it's been since a Cowboys cornerback logged an interception. (Answer: Longer than you probably think.)
Also, Quinnen Williams goes after Skip Bayless for his latest snarky hot take, the Cowboys bring back a piece of running back depth, and the team announces a new initiative to honor fallen teammate Marshawn Kneeland one year after his tragic passing.
Over in Indianapolis, all eyes are on their potentially crowded trade block. Jonathan Taylor is reportedly getting a lot of attention (and it's become hard to ignore, he says), but the Colts likely won't make any deals until after the Cowboys come to town this Sunday. And Taylor may not be the only one. Josh Downs has said he wants out of Indy, and one NFL insider says even Daniel Jones may be on the move soon.
Elsewhere in the league, Bill Belichick is getting another shot at a gold jacket, Rashee Rice files for bankruptcy and claims he has over $3 million in debts, and the Browns' Jared Verse is upset after getting body-slammed in last week's game... except he's mad at his own teammates. Plus, why is Caleb Williams getting so much attention for his shoes? And Jordan Love could be paying for his Halloween costume with a full-size fine from the league.
