The search for Jadon Sancho’s next club appears to be narrowing, with him now formally offered a contract to consider.
Sancho’s spell at Manchester United, which began in July 2021, was brought to an end this summer following his loan spell at Aston Villa.
It left the 25-year-old and his representatives with a question to answer: where should he play next?
Clubs have joined the line since his departure from Manchester United, including UAE outfit Arabian Falcons and Sokoor Al Arab.
It is Getafe that have dominated discussions, though, with the side’s President confirming that negotiations between themselves and Sancho were taking place.
Those conversations now appear to have advanced, with The Telegraph reporting that Getafe have offered Jadon Sancho a contract.
That contract is reportedly on a fraction of what he was earning at Manchester United, however.
Journalist Jason Burt, reporting for The Telegraph on Sancho’s future, has said that the LaLiga outfit would pay the winger just over £10,000 per week, a figure that falls well below the £250,000-a week salary he was earning at Old Trafford.
It leaves Sancho with an offer on the table, but one that might not meet what he initially expected. The winger will now likely spend a prolonged period considering the contract, alongside its terms, before returning an answer to Getafe.
If that answer is yes, the 25-year-old will become a Getafe player and will likely play in LaLiga throughout the rest of this season.
Should that answer be no, though, it raises some wider questions: where does Jadon Sancho actually want to go and what are his demands?
The coming days and weeks will be imperative in telling supporters where the winger will end up next, and which prospect they will be left to ponder.
