Real Madrid would not be denied.
Los Blancos fell behind twice to AEK Athens in a UEFA Champions League league phase match in Greece on Wednesday, Nov. 4 but secured equalizers thanks to standout individual goals.
It was another jaw-dropper that saw Real Madrid take all three points and keep its perfect record through four matches in the continental championship.
Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde took a touch shortly after Real Madrid was able to win the ball back and blasted it past AEK Athens goalkeeper Alberto Brignoli to secure a 3-2 victory for Jose Mourinho's side.
His goal followed a lovely goal from Jude Bellingham, when the England international applied a perfect backheel to a ball fizzing through the box to bring things level in the 32nd minute after an opening goal from Mauritania international Aboubakary Koita had the Greek squad ahead.
But the home side was back in the lead in the 75th minute when Koita set up Stavros Pilios for a goal against the run of play. But three minutes later it was Kylian Mbappe extending his streak to a goal in each of the last six UEFA Champions League matches.
Real Madrid's next Champions League night comes after the international window, with a visit from PSV Eindhoven set for Nov. 24.
