Liverpool are advancing their interest in a Barcelona defender with a view to securing a €45 million transfer in the winter window.

The January transfer window is approaching quickly, and top European clubs are already beginning to lay the groundwork for major squad adjustments.

With domestic and European competitions intensifying, scouting departments across the continent are searching for strategic reinforcements to bolster their backlines.

Among the most active clubs in the market is a prominent Premier League powerhouse, which is reportedly preparing a substantial financial package to secure a highly rated defensive asset from La Liga before the winter window closes.

That player is Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde, who has emerged as a primary target for Liverpool as they look to upgrade their defensive options.

According to Transfer News Live, the Merseyside club is readying a bid of €45 million to tempt the Catalan giants into a permanent sale.

With the Spanish club open to balancing their financial books and considering offers for select squad members, the talented full-back has surfaced as an ideal candidate to inject fresh energy into the Premier League side’s defensive ranks.

Known for his blistering pace, technical prowess, and ability to contribute heavily in the attacking third, the young defender fits the profile of modern full-backs favored by elite managers.

However, any potential mid-season deal will not be straightforward, as the Reds are expected to face stiff competition from other European heavyweights also monitoring the player’s situation.

Securing a deal for €45 million would represent a significant statement of intent from the Anfield hierarchy as they aim to maintain a competitive edge in both domestic and continental tournaments.

As negotiations develop, the coming weeks will reveal whether Barcelona are prepared to part ways with their prized academy product when the transfer window officially opens.
