WWE stars to return at Royal Rumble 2027: Three wrestlers who could make comebacks on February 6

We are fast approaching the 2027 Royal Rumble premium live event, which will take place on February 6.

Ahead of WWE’s visit to the State Farm Stadium in three months, there has been a lot of speculation about surprises the company could have in store for the annual event.

There are a number of stars who are currently not active on the main roster who we could see make comebacks in one of the two 30-person over-the-top-rope Rumble bouts, from injured stars to those active on other brands.

Here are three WWE stars who could make their returns at WWE Royal Rumble.

Omos

Omos hasn’t wrestled on WWE main roster programming since the April 5, 2024 SmackDown episode, when he competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

With the Nigerian Giant having a brief run in Pro Wrestling NOAH in early 2025, Omos has since established himself as a dominant star on the AAA brand.

With Omos being aligned with Dominik Mysterio in AAA as part of the “El Ojo” stable, both stars have expressed interest in potentially bringing this alliance to Raw or SmackDown.

If the two-time Copa Bardahl winner was to make a main roster return, it would make a lot of sense to bring him back in the Royal Rumble match.

Brie Bella

Brie Bella is currently recovering from a scapula (shoulder blade) injury which she suffered in six-woman tag-team action at SummerSlam.

Following this match on August 1, Brie stated that she was expected to be out of action for three to six months.

If the Hall of Famer’s recovery is on schedule, this would mean that Brie Bella would be ready to return within the next three months.

With Brie making her return to wrestling in the 2026 Royal Rumble match, we could see history repeat itself on February 6, 2027.

Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona last wrestled on August 21, defeating Kit Wilson in a match which aired on the September 3 edition of WWE Main Event.

Cardona suffered a torn tricep in this match which took him out of action and required surgery.

Two months on from surgery, Cardona took to Twitter to share a recovery update, writing:

“I tore this tricep and got surgery just over 2 months ago. I’ve been going to rehab and making up workouts in the gym to work around my injury.

“In my head, I’m ALMOST ready. I don’t know when I’ll be cleared to return to the ring, but I do know that I’M NOT FINISHED!”

Early February may be a little optimistic regarding a potential return date, but if Cardona did follow in John Cena’s footsteps and get cleared early ahead of the Rumble, a return in the 30-man battle royal would be a great way to establish the almost-Grand Slam winner as a world title contender.
