For Dallas Cowboys fans hoping their team swings a trade for star pass rusher Maxx Crosby before the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline, a new rumor crushes those dreams.

This has not been the season the Cowboys expected. After having one of the elite passing offenses last year, they expected similar numbers in 2026. And thus far, Dak Prescott and his receivers have been just as good. However, they predicted far more out of a defense they worked hard to improve since the trade deadline last season.

Yet as they head into the Week 8 NFL schedule, they are giving up the third-most yards in the league and close to 26 points a game. While their secondary has not been good, they are getting very little from their pass rush. They are tied for dead last in the NFL with just seven sacks as a team. Clearly, they need all the help they can get on defense and have been linked to various trade rumors for impact pass rushers.

With the Las Vegas Raiders in the midst of a four-game losing streak, renewed speculation has emerged about the Cowboys trying to make a trade for the five-time Pro Bowler. Especially since they made a concerted effort to acquire him in the offseason. Furthermore, with the division there for the taking, better play up front could be what helps carry Dallas to the NFC East title.

Las Vegas Raiders have no plans to trade Maxx Crosby

Unfortunately, Cowboys fans can put the Maxx Crosby trade dreams to rest. On Sunday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the pass rusher “doesn’t want to go anywhere and the Raiders currently have no plans of trading him, according to league sources.”

Moreover, the NFL insider added that Las Vegas hasn’t had “any discussions this season with any teams about a potential Crosby deal,” and if they did get calls, their stance on a trade would remain the same.

The Raiders own a 3-4 record heading into Sunday’s games. However, they are still in the hunt for a playoff spot and have the talent to get a Wild Card spot this season if they can get back to playing better football.
