The young Danish striker was not in the squad which fell to defeat away to Norwich City on Saturday, after picking up a minor issue in training the day before.
Speaking at Carrow Road after the game, Dionisi confirmed that the 23-year-old was absent due to an adductor issue, but is optimistic that he can be involved on Tuesday.
"Lucas had a physical problem yesterday," the Italian head coach revealed, "But I hope [that he can be involved again] on Tuesday, but for now I don't know if he will be able to or not. It's his adductor."
Kjerrumgaard's absence in Norfolk saw a slight tweak in set-up as Iker Bravo moved to play alongside Myron Boadu, while Martin Payero was put in midfield.
Bravo and Boadu worked excellently alongside each other throughout the game, with the young Spaniard providing an excellent assist for Boadu's first goal, his first for the club.
As a result, Kjerrumgaard could face an uphill battle to get back into the starting line-up, but his return is still important to add another option to Dionisi's squad at a time when injuries have depleted his current options.
