Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton had a very blunt response to a reporter’s question about quarterback Lamar Jackson’s injury in the game against the Buffalo Bills.
After a three-game absence, star quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to action against the Buffalo Bills in a game the Ravens needed to win. However, after playing just one snap, the two-time MVP suffered a thumb injury.
He was immediately taken out of the game for treatment and later ruled out. His replacement, Tyler Huntley, who had started three games in his absence, also went down with what was reported as a toe injury in the second quarter, leading to Joe Fagnano taking over.
Having played the entire second half, Fagnano was not able to inspire the Ravens against the Bills as they scored only three points in that period and ended up losing 36-10.
With Ravens’ two best quarterbacks out injured, their game plan was completely derailed, but safety Kyle Hamilton was not going to accept that.
The Ravens’ defence has conceded 71 points in the last two games. The fact that these have been games against Joe Burrow and Josh Allen has not helped, as they have looked underwhelming.
While losing two quarterbacks in a game is not ideal for any team, Hamilton wanted his defence to show some form of accountability against the Bills. But his response to the reporter’s question about injuries to his teammates may not have come off well.
“I mean, this is no disrespect, but like, that s*** has nothing to do with us. We’re a defense. At the end of the day, you need to go out there and play how, you know, you want to be remembered. And you got to play with a certain passion, which I thought we did. Obviously, not what we want on the scoreboard, but there’s a passion factor that you need when you’re out there. And I thought guys looked into each other’s eyes and played passionately. But we gotta get some stuff fixed too,” said Hamilton during an interview in the locker room.

MORE LAMAR JACKSON STORIES
With Jackson expected to be out for a few games and Huntley’s status also unknown, the Ravens’ offence is expected to dip significantly. With a 4-4 record, they are at the bottom of the AFC North standings, which is not ideal for a team of their talent, but without their star QB, Jackson, things are expected to be extremely difficult for the Ravens.
Their defence has already shown they cannot win games, and even though Hamilton wants his unit to focus on their task at hand, which is to make big plays on the defensive end, without Jackson, the Ravens definitely are not capable of making a run to the playoffs.
