Man Utd fans love what Matheus Cunha wrote underneath Shea Lacey's post after Roma win

Matheus Cunha and Shea Lacey have shared a touching moment on Instagram after the pair registered goal involvements in Manchester United’s 3-2 comeback win versus Roma.

The English youngster took to Instagram and posted an image of him and Cunha embracing at Old Trafford, captioned: “Until the very end. Thank you Old Trafford.”

The Brazilian, who bagged a brace on Tuesday evening, wrote back: “It shows how much I believe in you.” Other members of the Red Devils squad also commented beneath Lacey’s image.

Other players, including club captain and goalscorer on the night Fernandes, who commented “My kid,” took to Lacey’s post and left heartwarming words - after the former’s x-rated rant, delivered post-match in the Champions League, forced Amazon Prime to apologise.

Youngsters Andrey Santos and Harry Amass commented “Amazing” and love heart emojis, respectively, while Jack Fletcher, son of Red Devils icon Darren Fletcher, left a star emoji beneath Lacey’s image.

The latter’s twin brother Jack also commented fire emojis in response to the Englishman’s post; Patrick Dorgu left love-heart-eyes emojis.

Manchester United fell 2-0 behind after just 17 minutes in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, conceding to Roma’s Matias Soule and Donyell Malen.

After 58 minutes, the Red Devils won and converted a penalty courtesy of Bruno Fernandes, before a brace from Cunha sealed comeback victory for Manchester United.

Those strikes arrived in the 83rd and 86th minutes, with Lacey assisting the latter goal that gave Michael Carrick’s men three much-needed points in Europe.

The Red Devils are now positioned 17th in the Champions League league phase standings; however, a draw or loss yesterday would have seen them plummet as low as 25th.

Michael Carrick’s reaction to ‘glint in his eye’ Shea Lacey’s performance in comeback Roma win

Lacey, 19, replaced Amad Diallo off of the bench for Manchester United, completing three of four attempted dribbles in a 15-minute cameo.

Lacey provided eight carries, won five of six attempted ground duels and tackles, and provided an assist for Cunha’s second strike.

Of the youngster’s performance, Carrick, who engaged in a sideline incident with Cunha on Tuesday evening, spoke glowingly, claiming that Lacey has “that little glint in his eye” and is beloved by Manchester United.

The Red Devils boss said: "Not going too over the top, but at the same time [I’m] absolutely delighted for Shea."We love him to bits. He's a great young man, he's desperate to do well, he's got great ability.

“So, in terms of coming inside and finding the pass [for Cunha’s goal], that's not surprising. He's got that little glint in his eye, he plays with a bit of mischief, so he's always looking to have that.

“But I was just as happy seeing him defending as a right-back when we needed that in the moments, as a rounded footballer,” continued Carrick. “You've got to be able to do that.

"So, I was just as pleased seeing him do that on the defensive side, and seeing younger players take the opportunity. I think he gave everybody a bit of a lift coming on the pitch, and it was fantastic to see.”

Elsewhere, Cunha, whose spat with Carrick has now been explained, saw red after receiving an initial booking for taking off his shirt in the 87th minute, then another in the 91st for a foul.

Manchester United return to Premier League action against Aston Villa this weekend, at Old Trafford, on Sunday at 4:30pm.
