Liverpool were denied what many felt was a clear penalty during their defeat against Arsenal on Sunday evening.
The Reds did not do enough to get anything from the match at Anfield, failing to even have a shot on target throughout the 90 minutes.
Nevertheless, Liverpool were justified in their complaints that the referee cost them the chance of a point, after Andy Madeley failed to award a spot-kick for a blatant pull by Jurrien Timber. Quite rightly, Virgil van Dijk was left absolutely fuming as he spoke to Sky Sports about the decision after the game.

Because Isak did not go to ground following the tug from Timber, the incident went by fairly unnoticed at the time.
However, the more it was shown on the replays, the more clear it became that Liverpool had been robbed. Van Dijk certainly felt so, and the captain was still seething as he faced the cameras.
“It was a clear penalty,” said the Dutchman. “I’ve seen it back. I’ve seen it being given as well on other occasions, but today it wasn’t meant to be.”
Asked whether Isak should have made more of the pull, Van Dijk was visibly irritated, questioning why the dozens of cameras are not doing the job for him.
“They have 50 cameras, even more. Why do you have to complain when there are so many cameras?” he said.
“They spotted it because everyone’s seen it, but in the end it wasn’t given and we lose the game unfortunately. So, well done to Arsenal.”
Andoni Iraola was also clearly angry about the decision, maintaining that it was ‘100 per cent’ a penalty to Liverpool.
“I think the Alex one. It’s a clear penalty,” he said. “You hold the t-shirt, we can all see that he holds the t-shirt, it goes one centimetre in front of Alex. Because he hasn’t gone to the floor we’re not going to give the penalty?”
“That’s the problem we have with the game, that he doesn’t dive, the fact you are even asking me, is a problem, It’s a penalty 100 per cent.
“Asked whether he will instruct Isak to go to ground on the next occasion he is touched in the box, Next time we tell him he has to go to the floor otherwise they won’t call it.
