Chelsea failed to build on their 2-0 win against Manchester United last weekend after losing to Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.
Levi Colwill gave away a penalty, which Enzo Le Fee converted to give Sunderland all three points. The central defender was substituted at half-time after being bullied by Brian Brobbey in the first 45 minutes.
Colwill had a torrid game, but how did Chelsea’s other players fare at the Stadium of Light?

Chelsea lose to Sunderland AGAIN! Who do you blame for the defeat? 🤔
Could not do much about the penalty but kept going long despite Chelsea having a 5’8″ makeshift striker. Made a brilliant save in the second half.
Attacks were coming down his flank. Put in a fantastic cross for Morgan Rogers but was not too convincing overall.
Fared much better against Brobbey than Colwill. Chelsea have been linked with Brobbey in the past and could have done with his presence up front.
Struggled against Brobbey’s physicality and gave away a penalty. Kept getting too close to the Sunderland striker. Didn’t come out for the second half.
Was willing to put his body on the line and make several blocks. Good in possession. Chelsea’s best defender at the Stadium of Light.
Made a fantastic interception in the first half before winning a foul and getting Jules Ahoka booked. Coped better at centre-back than Colwill.
Played quite deep initially, was the third centre-back when Chelsea were in possession at one point. Passes were pretty basic.
Age is just a number, and Jordan Henderson continues to prove that. Despite being 36 years of age, the midfielder was constantly pressing. On the ball, though, he did very little.
Bar a penalty incident, was not involved in the first half. Did not do too much in the second 45 minutes either.
Missed a glorious chance with his head just before the 25th minute. Was too glued to the left wing.
Have to have a bit of sympathy for Pedro Neto. The service into him was long balls and crosses — he is not that kind of player! He was at least able to make a couple of dangerous runs.
Estevao Willian – 6/10
Really should have started the match. Was a threat down the right with his directness.
Geovany Quenda – 6/10
Was dangerous when he came on. Geovany Quenda and Estevao Willian both did more than Chelsea’s starting attackers.
Danny Welbeck – N/A
Cannot remember if he even had a touch…
Malo Gusto – N/A
