Ex-Kansas City Chiefs WR designated for return by San Francisco 49ers

Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Demarcus Robinson was designated for return by the San Francisco 49ers on November 4 after a lengthy stint on the team's injured reserve list.

Robinson — a former fourth-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2016 NFL Draft — played in Kansas City for six seasons between 2016 and 2021, and signed contracts with the Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, and Los Angeles Rams before finding his way to San Francisco last season.

The former Florida Gator sustained an ankle injury during the 49ers Week 2 matchup against the Miami Dolphins and spent Weeks 3-8 recovering on injured reserve.

While it remains to be seen if Robinson will play a major role in San Francisco's offense when he returns to the field, his admirable performances in the 49ers' first two games — which yielded five receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown — are an indication that the veteran pass-catcher still has juice as he competes in his eleventh NFL season.
