WWE legend Ric Flair rushed to hospital after he canceled appearance due to blood clots

Wrestling star Ric Flair was hurried to a Florida hospital shortly after canceling an appearance due to blood clots, although he is now said to be doing 'OK'.

The 77-year-old was at a Tampa restaurant on Friday morning, according to a report by TMZ. Flair is said to have stood up from the bar, leaving his phone and drink behind, before walking across the street and falling. TMZ further reported that Flair cut his face and the area around his eye, adding that he may have suffered a concussion.

He was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance and The Daily Mail has sought comment from a Flair spokesman.

Flair's daughter Charlotte, herself a wrestler, has since issued an update, saying her father is 'going to be ok.'

Earlier Friday, Flair released a statement saying he would not be attending a fan convention in Seattle on the advice of his doctors, who are worried about some recently discovered blood clots.

'Blood Clots Are Extremely Serious And Can Be Life-Threatening,' Flair wrote online, capitalizing the first letter of every word. 'We Have Seen This Recently With [Philadelphia Eagles quarterback] Jalen Hurts And The Complications Involving Blood Clots In His Lungs. It Is A Reminder That This Is Not Something To Take Lightly, And I Must Follow Medical Advice.'

Flair said he can resume traveling after he undergoes a procedure on the affected vein.

He previously revealed a skin cancer battle in 2025, as well as unspecified health issues back in May.

'If you understood the health issues that I deal with and am currently dealing with, you would understand why I get frustrated in life with a lot of people,' he wrote online at the time. 'I'm sorry for the frustration. I am taking time to focus on my health.'

Flair also revealed a legal battle with his family.

In a series of since-deleted posts, the 'Nature Boy' claimed there is 'someone that I'm very familiar with' who is using 'my own trademark, FLAIR.'

He warned them that he is 'well represented by a reputable $1,000 per-hour attorney' who 'makes a living suing people that abuse my trademark.'

Flair is known for his years across the WWF/WWE, the WCW and other wrestling promotions.
