The consensus greatest heavyweight of all time could have one more fight in him.

It’s been almost two years since former two-time champion Stipe Miocic last entered the UFC Octagon.

In the main event of UFC 309, Jon Jones stopped Miocic in round three to successfully defend his title. The clash at Madison Square Garden currently serves as the final outing for both legends.

‘Bones’ has consistently teased that changing in recent months, and it was recently the turn of Miocic to suggest that a comeback is on the cards.

Stipe Miocic would come out of retirement to fight ‘anyone’ if the UFC paid up

Miocic’s title challenge against Jones came over three years after his previous fight, which was a devastating knockout loss to Francis Ngannou in their title fight at the UFC Apex.

The 44-year-old’s last win came in 2020, when Miocic beat Daniel Cormier in their trilogy fight to win the rivalry 2-1.

It’s been almost nine years since the former fighter and firefighter beat someone other than ‘DC’, but the retired Ohio native is not ruling out a chance to change that statistic, provided the UFC pays up.

“Yeah, a lot more money,” Miocic told talkSPORT when asked if anything could bring him out of retirement.

“I guess there’s always a chance of coming out of retirement. Never say never. I’d probably fight anyone.

“I’ve never really cared about who I fought, so there’s no dream fight,” he continued. “But if there’s a lot of money involved, then I would definitely do it.”

Retirements in mixed martial arts are known for not sticking, something that will be highlighted when the legendary Amanda Nunes enters the cage in November.

A few years after calling time on her career, the ‘Lioness’ will challenge Kayla Harrison for the women’s bantamweight title at MSG.
