The fans have spoken, and Ilia Topuria wants the UFC president to know about it.

‘El Matador’ is on the comeback trail a few months on from his brutal loss to Justin Gaethje in the UFC Freedom 250 main event at the White House.

After suffering his first defeat in pro MMA and having the lightweight title taken from him, Topuria is targeting redemption in 2027.

His preference is an immediate rematch with Gaethje, and the Spanish star got a boost in that endeavor after fans chose it over a highly anticipated grudge match.

Gaethje shut down talk of rematches against either Topuria or Pimblett in 2027, suggesting instead that Arman Tsarukyan is the man he will defend the lightweight title against if he opts against retirement.

That has sparked talk of the Spaniard and Scouser finally settling their beef inside the Octagon in what would likely be a title eliminator.

But Topuria has not given up hope of challenging for the title he formerly held next time out.

On Friday, he launched a poll on Instagram asking fans which opponent they would rather see him fight out of Gaethje and Pimblett.

Almost one million fans had their say, with 55 percent choosing ‘The Highlight’ over ‘The Baddy’.

It didn’t take long for Topuria to make sure Dana White saw the fans’ appetite for a redo of the brutal main event that played out on the South Lawn of the White House this past June.

“More than 850k votes in less than 24h…@danawhite,” Topuria wrote on his Instagram Stories, alongside a shrugging emoji.

The UFC president recently addressed Topuria’s status, revealing that plans are in the works for the ex-lightweight and featherweight champion’s comeback fight in 2027.

White has supported Pimblett’s call for a season of The Ultimate Fighter featuring him coaching against Topuria ahead of a grudge match inside the cage.
