Multiple former FSU stars to attend Garnet & Gold All-Star Game

The stars will be in Tallahassee this weekend for FSU baseball's annual Garnet & Gold All-Star Game. The game will take place on Friday and end FSU's fall schedule.

FSU baseball announced Tuesday on social media that former pitchers Jamie Arnold and CJ Van Eyk, and former third baseman Cam Smith, will all return to Dick Howser Stadium for the game. All three had excellent careers in Tallahassee before being selected in the MLB draft, with Arnold and Smith playing major roles in their resurgence under Link Jarrett.

Arnold had a dominant career with the Seminoles and has emerged as one of the Athletics' top prospects after they took him with the 11th overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft. The lefty was a consensus All-American in 2025 as a junior, also making the All-ACC First Team. He finished his FSU career with a 3.61 ERA in 234.1 innings, striking out 327 batters.

Smith was one of the key pieces of FSU's offense in 2023, hitting .387 with 16 home runs, 22 doubles, and 57 RBI in 66 games. The Chicago Cubs then drafted him with the 14th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, trading him to the Houston Astros later that year. He then made history with the Astros, making their Opening Day Roster after playing just 32 minor league games, the third-fewest ever.

While he played third base at FSU, the Astros moved him to the outfield, and he has excelled, being nominated for a Gold Glove as a rookie in 2025. He has a .222 batting average with 30 home runs, 38 doubles, and 107 RBI in his first two seasons as a pro.

Van Eyk, who made his debut with the Toronto Blue Jays this year, played at FSU from 2018-20, before Jarrett took over. He was poised for a massive year as a junior, but COVID-19 wiped out the 2020 season before the Blue Jays took him in the second round of the 2020 MLB Draft. He finished his time as a Seminole with a 3.21 ERA in 176.2 innings, striking out 225 batters.

The game is set to start at 6 p.m. ET and will end with a home run derby and a fireworks display.
