Newcastle United's all-time record signing Nick Woltemade can't stop scoring in Europe for Juventus.
The Germany international was used as a number 10 just behind Frenchman Kolo Muani in attack for Juventus in their Europa League home game with Rennes and grabbed an assist for Zeki Celik in the first five minutes. And after converting from the penalty spot to score his third goal for Juventus, the Turin side's 2-2 draw with Rennes kept them in an automatic qualification position after three games.
Woltemade is now joint top scorer in the Europa League this season, joining a clutch of stars on three goals each. After struggling to get the ball from Anthony Gordon last season in the Champions League - most famously in Qarabag when the Scouser grabbed four - Woltemade has been afforded more trust under Luciano Spalletti.

Woltemade - who had missed a big chance in the Serie A defeat to Lazio - slotted home at the Allianz Stadium in front of a crowd of 41,554 to secure a point in the 67th minute, and said afterwards: "We had to keep believing and fighting.
"We needed to turn the page after the Lazio game and find positive energy, especially tonight.
"We did everything we could to win, but it wasn't to be. Now we have to keep moving forward and working hard. We have quality players, and with this kind of energy, things will go well."
Woltemade was used last night in a front two as part of a 3-5-2 formation by Spaletti and had plenty of action with seven shots and four aerial wins in the air. He could not manage a goal from open play, but these are still early days for the Juve loanee in Turin.
It's fair to say it has been a mixed start for Woltemade as he has struggled to make an impact in Serie A games after being afforded limited game-time but now seems to be Juve's man for Europe.
La Gazzetta dello Sport offered Woltemade a rave review this morning and read: "Woltemade didn't just score a penalty to make it 2-2 he also showed off all his qualities, demonstrating that he is completely at ease in the attacking midfield compared to when he is deployed as a centre forward.
"The through ball for Celik to put him through on goal was perfect, his lay-offs, defence of the ball (11 duels won out of 18, 4 of which were in the air), created chances (2) and solo attempts (6 shots): the former Newcastle player, in short, showed the best of his repertoire. He's a giant with good feet."
Woltemade also revealed he'd asked Muani to take the penalty and got a different answer than he did on the numerous occasions he'd approached Gordon, he said: "I asked him if I could take the penalty, and he said yes. We have the right energy and a lot of quality players."
To cap offf a great night Woltemade joined Juve greats Darko Kovacevic (1999) and Roberto Baggio (1990) by scoring in his first three matches in Europe for the Bianconeri, not bad company at all for rejuvenated Woltemade.
