Jose Sa says Wolves must be “stronger” and “more compact” after they surrendered their lead within minutes against Wrexham.
Adam Armstrong put Wolves ahead in the 25th minute at the Racecourse Ground, but their advantage lasted less than two minutes before Lewis O’Brien headed home the equaliser.
Goalkeeper Sa, who has started every Championship game bar the season opener against Blackburn Rovers, was frustrated by the manner in which Wolves conceded.
Asked if the quick response was frustrating, he said: “Of course it was, it is always disappointing when we concede a goal. But we have to improve.
“Next time we have to be stronger when we score, more compact. We will work on that.”
Wolves were exposed down their right as Issa Kabore delivered a cross towards O’Brien, who had advanced to the edge of the six-yard box.
Sa initially appeared come to claim or clear the cross before retreating, leaving him unable to keep out O’Brien’s header despite getting a hand to the ball.
Wrexham looked to exploit the wide areas throughout, with crosses into the box a key part of their attacking threat.
Sa added: “We knew Wrexham is a team who cross a lot, and we expected that. The goal was a very good cross and we knew about that.”
Wolves faced a Wrexham side buoyed by their victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough earlier in the week.
The draw ended Wolves’ winning run but extended their unbeaten league streak to six matches heading into the international break.
“We knew it would be a difficult game because they have a good team,” Sa said.
“They won their last game against a team who will be fighting for promotion.
“We knew it would be tough, and as we expected, it was. But the team played well, in the end we take a point.”
