Charlton vs Norwich City: Team news and starting line-ups

Harry Darling comes into the defence in place of Jose Cordoba for his first appearance since last month’s Carabao Cup defeat at Manchester City.

Paris Maghoma also returns to the starting line-up, replacing Anis Ben Slimane, who misses out on the matchday squad entirely. Mathias Kvistgaarden is preferred to Jovon Makama to lead the line.

Daniel Grimshaw retains his place between the sticks, with Vladan Kovacevic named among the substitutes after missing the previous two games with concussion.

Kenny McLean is a notable addition to the bench. The 34-year-old has missed the Canaries’ last three matches after sustaining an ankle injury in last month’s home defeat to Bolton Wanderers.

Clement confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the midfielder would be unable to complete the full 90 minutes.

Anthony Musaba returns to the bench after missing the Portsmouth defeat through illness, while Ante Crnac is also among the substitutes.

The Croatian featured for the Under-21s last week, but Clement feels his fitness levels are not yet where they need to be for Championship action.

Lucien Mahovo and Errol Mundle-Smith, who were both named on the bench last weekend, are absent from the 20-man squad.

Elsewhere, Mirko Topic is closing in on a return from the ACL injury that has kept him out for almost a year. The Serbian has featured twice for the development team over the past week as he continues to build up his match fitness.

Papa Amadou Diallo (thigh) is expected to return within weeks after visiting a specialist to investigate his recurring thigh problems, while Gabe Forsyth (knee) has suffered a minor setback in his recovery

Clement confirmed, however, that a scan had revealed no major cause for concern.

Mo Toure has undergone surgery on his shoulder injury and is expected to return in January, while Ali Ahmed remains sidelined with an ACL injury and is not expected back until the latter stages of the season.
