Caleb Williams unleashed sideline rant at Seattle Seahawks defense during Chicago Bears win
Caleb Williams was seen animatedly yelling on the sideline

Caleb Williams was already playing like he did not care who was across from him, and then the Monday Night Football microphones made it official.

The Chicago Bears quarterback was caught on a hot mic during the Bears’ 34-17 win over the defending champion Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field, in a moment that quickly spread across social media.

After a 17-play, 8-minute scoring drive that saw the Bears march down the field and score a touchdown, the Chicago signal-caller made it clear what he thought about the league-leading Seahawks defense.

“I don’t give a f--- who they are!” Williams said.

On the field, the attitude matched the words. Seattle came in allowing the fewest yards in the league, and no quarterback had passed for more than 176 yards against it. Williams finished with 247 passing yards, and the Bears piled up 363 total yards.

Chicago converted three third downs and a fourth down along the way on the first drive, and Williams went 8-for-10 for 58 yards on the series before Burden caught a 1-yard touchdown. It was the longest touchdown drive Seattle had allowed in 10 years.

The Seahawks made a push in the fourth quarter.

Chicago blocked a field goal early in the period, but Seattle’s Lawrence forced a fumble and Sam Darnold found Cooper Kupp from 7 yards out. A two-point conversion to Tory Horton made it 20-17.

Williams answered immediately. On third-and-9, he hit Raymond with a 39-yard quick throw that was scored as a rush, and a delay-of-game penalty helped the Bears keep the drive alive. D’Andre Swift finished it with a 5-yard touchdown run.

Later, with Chicago leading 27-17, a Darnold pass was tipped and intercepted, and Swift added his third touchdown of the night to put the game away.

The defense backed up its quarterback as well. Jeffery Simmons had a sack, six tackles and two tackles for loss in his Bears debut. Seattle finished with just 252 yards, converted 1 of 11 third downs and allowed three sacks. Darnold completed 17 of 34 passes for 188 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

For Williams, the night added to a strong season. He has thrown for 1,020 yards with five touchdowns and one interception while completing about 71 percent of his passes.

Chicago improved to 6-2, while Seattle fell to 4-4. Bears coach Ben Johnson said before the game that his team would have to coach and play the best it had all year to beat the Seahawks, and the Bears did.
