Yesterday it was reported that long time WWE executive Bruce Prichard was set to retire from his position as a key figure in WWE's creative and talent teams with PWInsider reporting that his departure was set to take place around WrestleMania 43.
The report also noted that Prichard was expected to remain "connected" to WWE perhaps in a consulting role that would allow him to move out of Stamford, CT where WWE's head offices are.
Fightful Select had a slightly different report, noting that Prichard will remain with WWE but will be working from home much more. Prichard recently took a leave of absence from WWE after undergoing a "very serious" surgery and that his new duties would allow him to be taken off the road.
The report added that while Prichard is feeling "rough" from a physical standpoint, he has still been on the road with WWE and even has filled in for Paul "HHH" Levesque running the TV shows the last couple of weeks with Levesque on vacation.
Finally, the Fightful report also added that an internal memo was sent out to WWE staff earlier this year about his status with the company but details on what that memo contained were never shared outside of the company.
