The Bluebirds head to The Shay with a game in hand as their game against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday was called off due to worsening conditions and the surface becoming increasingly unplayable.
Adam Murray’s side would have been left frustrated as they took the lead in front of their home supporters after only 15 seconds and will now have to start again in any rearranged fixture.
The manager will be hoping his players will use that frustration going into Tuesday’s match in Halifax, with Barrow sitting only two points off the play-off places with a game in hand.
The Bluebirds could hardly be in better form with a 7-game unbeaten run in all competitions and a 5-game winning run in the Enterprise National League.
Shoring up the defence has been a key to Barrow’s recent turnaround in form with the side only conceding just 4 goals in their last 7 games, compared to 10 in their previous 7.
Tuesday’s game will be a matchup of two of the league’s best defences with only Boreham Wood and Yeovil Town having conceded fewer goals across the division so far.
Visiting FC Halifax Town will hardly be a walk in the park as John McGrath’s side are in fine form themselves, having scored 11 goals and gone unbeaten in their last five games.
The Shaymen have also only lost once at home so far this season in a 3-1 loss to Boreham Wood back in August so the Bluebirds will have to be on their A-game to have any hope of keeping their winning run going.
It will be a true test of just how much progress the Bluebirds have made in recent weeks, facing up against one of the best home and defensive records in the league.
Murray will be hoping his man of the moment, Rekeem Harper, will continue his rich vein in form to help break down their stubborn opponents, having scored 5 goals in his last 5 league games for Barrow.
Only Tuesday will tell.
