Chelsea transfer news: Gusto in demand, Trent latest, Garnacho problem, and more

Even though the January window isn't open for another two-and-a-half months, Chelsea are already being linked with a host of deals; both in and outgoings.

Xabi Alonso's side have been linked with a mixture of exciting young prospects and established names, but there could also be some difficult decisions to make regarding potential departures.

Here's everything you need to know about Chelsea's latest transfer news.

Chelsea planning 2027 move for Gessime Yassine

According to TeamTalk, Chelsea are well positioned to sign Strasbourg winger Gessime Yassine in the summer of 2027, with BlueCo's ownership of both clubs potentially giving them an advantage over rival suitors.

The 20-year-old Moroccan has registered two goals and two assists in seven Ligue 1 appearances this season, attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.

His ability to operate on either flank makes him an top prospect, although he would still need to adapt to Alonso's demands.

Brighton contract talks could open door for Yasin Ayari

Chelsea are also monitoring Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari, with TEAMtalk reporting that negotiations over a new contract have stalled.

The 23-year-old Sweden international has become an important player for Fabian Hurzeler, and sporting director Paul Winstanley already knows him from his time at Brighton.

With the Seagulls holding an option to extend his deal, however, any potential move remains far from straightforward.

Trent Alexander-Arnold emerges as surprise target

Perhaps the most surprising name on Chelsea's radar is Real Madrid's Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The former Liverpool defender has reportedly struggled to establish himself in Spain, potentially opening the door to a move back to the Premier League.

His exceptional passing and crossing could add another dimension to the Blues' attack, but with Reece James, Josh Acheampong and Malo Gusto already providing options at right-back, it is difficult to see exactly where he would fit.

Malo Gusto attracts further Premier League interest

Chelsea could consider offers for Malo Gusto, with Tottenham, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid reportedly monitoring the Frenchman's situation.

Manchester City were also linked during the summer, but Chelsea's reported £75million valuation proved too expensive.

The 23-year-old has contributed 18 assists in 141 appearances for the club, but increased competition for places could complicate his future at Stamford Bridge.

Alejandro Garnacho's Aston Villa move in jeopardy

The Argentine's loan includes a conditional obligation to buy worth around £43million, but his lack of playing time has put that outcome in doubt.

The Blues will be desperate for the winger to earn Unai Emery's trust, with a failure to trigger the clause potentially leaving Chelsea searching for another buyer next summer.
